Strathmore University Bachelor of Business Finance students – Tracy Mbeneka and Laura Jebett attended the recently concluded 68th AIESEC International Congress (IC) that was held in, Poland.

The annual convening of AIESEC and its member territories, aims to celebrate youth leadership, cultural diversity and global togetherness. This is with an effort of bringing young leaders from around the world together to connect with different stakeholders, to discuss and act upon the most important global issues.

In gathering 1000+ millennials, IC showcases diversity and cross-cultural understanding in its most pure form. Delegates who attend IC consistently change as a result of their conversations with others at the Congress.

“I believe that every student should strive to attend such conferences, mostly because they open up your mind, challenge you to level up with your global peers, and gives you a chance to see the world. The cultural diversity made me realize how similar we all are in the world and yet so different. I would urge students to plug in to get a wholesome experience of university life not just in Strathmore but globally,” Tracy commended.

Several corporate multinationals partnered with AIESEC to ensure this conference was a success. These companies, similar to AIESEC, believe that Youth are the key to unlocking a better future. The companies included Apple Inc., PwC, Electrolux, Coca Cola Company, Deutsche Post DHL, and Cisco Systems Inc.

The conference was marked by 4 major events; Global Village – a festival highlighting the unique elements of 120+ cultures and traditions present at International Congress; Youth Speak Forum – A premiere event that connects today’s youth leaders with business professionals to have meaningful conversations about pressing global issues; Polska Diy – Polish Night; and finally the prestigious Electrolux Gala Awards.

AIESEC is an international organization that provides young people with leadership development and cross-cultural global internship, and volunteer exchange experiences across its 126 countries and territories.

Jebett is the current President of AIESEC Strathmore University and Tracy is the current National Sales Director of AIESEC Kenya.
